Voor de koper: koop je een werk bij IN YOUR FACE 2.0?
Tof! Meldt je bij de suppoost, die heeft een pinapparaat. Er kan alleen direct en via pin betaald worden. 20% gaat naar de Doelen, 80% naar de kunstenaar. Het werk kan NA AFLOOP VAN DE EXPOSITIE BIJ DE KUNSTENAAR opgehaald worden, noteer dus naam en email/telefoonnummer van de kunstenaar en maak een afspraak voor ná 27 april 17 uur (dat kan dus ook een dag, week of een maand later zijn, wat jullie dan ook samen besluiten).
Voor de kunstenaar: mijn portret is verkocht, en nu?
Gefeliciteerd, je kunt na afloop een factuur indienen bij de Doelen, voor 80% van de verkoop prijs incl 9% btw. Stuur je factuur naar: financiele_administratie@dedoelen.nl - t.n.v. de Doelen / Vincent Sturkenboom - onder vermelding van titel en kunstenaar.
Waarom mogen er geen mannen meedoen?
Omdat er nog steeds te weinig vrouwelijke kunstenaars zichtbaar zijn. Ja, nog steeds! Dit is zichtbaar volgens recente cijfers, bijvoorbeeld van stichting Niemeijer fonds en boekmanstichting, in 2024. Totdat onderzoek aantoont dat er een redelijke v/m balans is in de beeldende kunst, tonen we alleen werk van vrouwelijke kunstenaars.
(Mannelijke kunstenaars kunnen hun vrouwelijke collega’s in dit proces natuurlijk wel supporten door deze tentoonstelling te bezoeken. Welkom!)
Hoe maken jullie een keuze tussen de werken voor IN YOUR FACE 2.O?
We kiezen niet! We willen juist álle werken tonen die worden ingezonden. Dus, ben je ingeschreven bij CBK Rotterdam en identificeer je je als vrouw: doe mee, laat je zien! En zegt het voort.
Ik heb niks met zelfportretten! Kan ik dan niet meedoen?
Natuurlijk wel. Een zelfportret is een breed begrip. We dagen je uit!
Mijn techniek leent zich niet voor A5 op papier. Kan ik dan niet meedoen?
Natuurlijk wel. Heb je nooit getekend of gefotografeerd? Verbeeld jezelf!
Ik ben niet ingeschreven bij het CBK Rotterdam, kan ik nu niet meedoen?
Dat klopt.
Waarom is CBK ingeschreven een harde eis?
Omdat het ingeschreven staan bij het CBK al een professionaliteits-toets is, kiezen we voor deze weg. Dan hoeven wij in onze beperkte tijd die afweging niet meer te maken. about A woman is onafhankelijk, maar wij maken deze expositie met een bijdrage van het CBK. Zij realiseren ook de publicatie.
Waarom doen jullie dit niet landelijk?
Omdat we het nu in Rotterdam doen. Met nog meer zelfportretten dan de eerste keer. Als je een goed voorstel en connecties hebt, bijvoorbeeld 5000 zelfportretten van vrouwelijke kunstenaars in de kelder van het Stedelijk in Amsterdam? Fantastisch: mail ons (na 10 april, want nu hebben we het druk).
Ik ben recent afgestudeerd aan een Kunstacademie en woon in Rotterdam, hoe kan ik meedoen?
Als je je inschrijft bij het CBK mag je 3 jaar lid zijn, daarna wordt je beroepsmatigheid getoetst. Dus kijk op de website van het CBK, schrijf je in en doe mee!
Kost het iets om mee te doen met IN YOUR FACE 2.0?
Nee, natuurlijk niet, daar zijn wij erg op tegen. Deelname is kosteloos en je kunt je werk te koop aanbieden. CBK en aAw zorgen voor de organisatie van de tentoonstelling met randprogramma én geven jou een publicatie met de werken van de expositie, waarin ook jouw werk wordt opgenomen.
De vorige editie (2023) deed ik mee. Mag ik nu hetzelfde zelfportret inleveren?
Graag willen we een ander zelfportret zien. Dat hoeft niet recent gemaakt te zijn, als het maar voldoet aan de voorwaarden (A5 staand, papier en niet te zwaar, want het wordt met buddies opgehangen).
Ik kan mijn werk niet ophalen op de genoemde data, kan ik dan wel meedoen?
Werk moet opgehaald worden bij studio 2 de Doelen art, Schouwburgplein 57. Dit kan op zondag 27 april om 18:00 uur (direct na de finissage) of op maandag 28 april tussen 10:00 en 18:00 uur. We kunnen geen werk terug sturen via de post. Vraag een ander jouw werk (en catalogus) op te halen, bijvoorbeeld een mede-exposant. Stuur ons een mail met jouw naam en de naam van degene die jouw werk op komt halen: post@aboutawoman.nl
Waarom moet ik mij identificeren als ik mijn werk kom ophalen?
Omdat wij niet alle deelnemers persoonlijk kennen en we er zeker van willen zijn, dat wanneer je werk niet verkocht is, je werkt terugkomt bij jou (en niet wordt meegenomen door iemand anders) vragen we je bij het ophalen van je werk om je ID.

For the buyer: are you buying a work at IN YOUR FACE 2.0?
Cool! Report to the attendant, who has a pin machine. Payment can only be made directly and via pin. 20% goes to the Doelen, 80% to the artist. The work can be collected from the artist AFTER THE END OF THE EXHIBITION, so make a note of the artist's name and email/phone number and make an appointment for after 27 April at 5pm (which could be a day, a week or a month later, waht you both agree on).
For the artist: my portrait has been sold, now what?
Congratulations, you can submit an invoice to the Doelen afterwards, for 80% of the sale price incl 9% VAT. Send your invoice to: financiele_administratie@dedoelen.nl - t.n.v. de Doelen / Vincent Sturkenboom - stating title and artist.
Why are no men allowed to participate?
Because there are still too few female artists visible. Yes, still. According to recent figures e.g. from the Niemeijer Fund and Bookman Foundation, in 2024. Until research shows that there is a reasonable v/m balance in the visual arts, we only show work by female artists.
(Male artists can of course support their female colleagues in this process by visiting this exhibition. Welcome!)
How do you choose between the works for IN YOUR FACE 2.O?
We don't choose! Instead, we want to show all the works that are submitted. So, are you registered at CBK Rotterdam and do you identify as a woman: participate, show yourself! And spread the word.
I have nothing to do with self-portraits! Can't I participate then?
Of course you can. A self-portrait is a broad concept. We challenge you!
My technique doesn't lend itself to A5 on paper. Can't I participate then?
Of course you can. Have you never drawn or photographed? Imagine yourself!
I am not registered with the CBK Rotterdam, can I not participate now?
That is correct.
Why is CBK registration a hard requirement?
Because being registered with the CBK is already a test of professionalism. That's why we chose this path, so that in our limited time we no longer have to make that consideration. about A woman is independent, but we are making this exhibition with a contribution from the CBK. They also take care of a publication.
Why aren't you doing this nationwide?
Because we are now doing it in Rotterdam. With even more self-portraits than the first time. If you have a good proposal and connections, for example 5,000 self-portraits by female artists in the basement of the Stedelijk in Amsterdam? Fantastic: email us (after 10 April, because now we are busy).
I recently graduated from an Art Academy and live in Rotterdam, how can I participate?
If you register with the CBK, you may be a member for 3 years, after which your professionalism will be tested. So check the CBK website, register and join!
Does it cost anything to participate in IN YOUR FACE 2.0?
No, of course not, we are very much against that. Participation is free of charge and you can offer your work for sale. CBK and aAw take care of organising the exhibition with side programme and give you a publication with the works of the exhibition, in which your work is also included.
I participated in the previous edition (2023). Can I submit the same self-portrait now?
We would like to see another self-portrait. It does not have to be recently made, as long as it meets the conditions (A5 portrait, paper and not too heavy, as it will be hung with buddies).
I cannot collect my work on the dates mentioned, can I still participate?
Work must be collected from studio 2 de Doelen art, Schouwburgplein 57, either on Sunday 27 April at 18:00 (immediately after the finissage) or on Monday 28 April between 10:00 and 18:00. We can't return work by mail. Ask someone else to collect your work (and catalogue), e.g. a fellow exhibitor. Why do I need to identify myself when I come to collect my work?
Because we do not know all participants personally and we want to make sure, in case your work is not sold, that it is returned to you (and not taken away by someone else), we ask you for your ID when you come to collect your work.
